Should I disconnect the car battery before I remove the SRSModule ?

Should I disconnect the car battery before I remove the SRSModule ?

I dont know why people keep asking “Should I disconnect the battery before removing the srs airbag module ?”

There is absolutely no need to do so. Simply, locate the srsmodule in your vehicle and disconnect by removing the plug. Its that easy.

The only thing you might want to avoid is:

Dont temper (remove or connect) the srsmodule while the car is running or the ignition key is on.

Dont start the vehicle if the srsmodule is not grounded – This may cause a deployment in some makes and models.

Dont start the vehicle if the srsmodule is not placed in its designated position in the car AKA some people will just plug it in while its hanging to test it. A big NO NO for some makes and models.

The car will think its rolling and blow all your side curtains when you flip the switch.

I have a question about the srsmodule, I have 4 airbags that deployed (the steering wheel, and knee airbag. and the seat curtain airbags, not sure but the seat belts too). Is it possible to only replace the steering wheel and reset the srsmodule, I do understand the airbag dash light will still be on. But will the car drive and run as normal. This for a 2014 Toyota Corolla…

    thanks kevin
